Lange&Eckert Fine Art
I'm a mixed media visual artist with a passion for drawing the figure. The complexities of the human form pose a special problem for the artist who doesn't rely on formulas for drawing the figure. There are no quick and easy methods for drawing, no "drawing for dummies" approach that can lead to a real understanding the the human form. There are no shortcuts.
I have no interest in making my work look like a photograph. Photos speak their own language. I would rather my work looks raw, made by hand and without a slick gloss.
This table features an Isosceles triangle in the center. This is an old drafting tool
that I found at a flea market in Amsterdam. At the time, I had no particular use
for this object. I just liked the fact that it was made of wood and not the more
common material, plastic. The table is a student desk that must have been quite
common as I found another one at a different sale. See "Stripes."
